NGC 613 in Sculptor

This barred spiral galaxy in the southern constellation of Sculptor, is estimated to be 67 lightyears distant. The angular size of 5.5 x 4.2 arcminutes corresponds to a diameter of 100,000 lightyears, very close to the size of our own galaxy.

This RGB image is the result of 1h of remote data capture from Chile, in an evening in September 2025. An FLI ML16200 camera was used, through a 20-inch Planewave CDK reflector.
