M101 Pinwheel Galaxy in Ursa Major

Messier 101 is a large face-on spiral galaxy around 21 million lightyears distant and 170,000 lightyears in diameter. The spiral structure has been disrupted by the gravitational influence of companion galaxies.

This image is the result of almost 8h of data capture over three evenings in March 2020.
