The Cycle of Nature

This image was produced from a compact camera, a Canon Powershot G1X, converted to infrared.

There is now a filter that blocks all visible light, with a cutoff at a wavelength of 830nm allowing the passage of near-infrared light only. Any foliage in direct sunlight becomes almost-incandescent with reflected infrared. Black-and-white images such as this are the result, as there is no contribution from the visible spectrum.
