Messier 96 in Leo

This is approx 31 million lightyears away, being roughly the same size as our Milky Way galaxy at 100,000 lightyears. Note the extended outer halo, which on it's edge at the lower left includes an edge-on spiral galaxy, 700 million lightyears distant.

This RGB image is the result of just over 3h of data capture, over two evenings in March 2022. ZWO ASI2600MM Pro camera, through an 8-inch Teleskop-Service Ritchey-Chretien telescope.
