Messier 77 in Cetus

M77 in the constellation Cetus is a barred spiral galaxy with an unusual outer ring-like structure. It is around 47 million lightyears distant and at 170,000 lightyears in diameter, is considerably larger than our galaxy.

This LRGB image is the result of 1.5h of data capture on an evening in November 2021, remotely imaged from Spain with an SBIG STL-6303 camera through a 12.5-inch Planewave CDK reflector.
