NGC 206 in M31 Andromeda Galaxy

This star cluster in the centre of the image was large and bright enough visually, to be assigned its own NGC number in the Nineteenth Century. In fact NGC 206 is the richest and most conspicuous star cluster in Messier 31, as well as one of the largest and brightest star formation regions of the Local Group of galaxies, of which our galaxy is the second largest after M31.

This LRGBHa image is the result of 2.5h of data capture, remotely imaged from Spain in January 2021, with an SBIG STL-6303 camera through a 12.5-inch Planewave CDK reflector.
