Centre of the Rosette Nebula in Monoceros

The Rosette Nebula is around 5000 lightyears distant and 130 lightyears across.

This image is the result of almost 4h of data capture over 3 evenings in January 2020. It shows the star cluster NGC 2244, which has sculpted out the centre of the nebula. Darker Bok Globules can be seen towards the upper right, silhouetted against the emission nebulosity.
