Messier 57 in Lyra

The Ring Nebula M57 is an iconic image for me, along with M1 Crab Nebula.

This is the result of 2.5h of imaging time over the nights of 13th and 14th May 2019.

M57 is 2300 lightyears distant and at 1.5 arcminutes in its longest dimension is probably at the limit of my 8-inch Ritchey-Chretien, and still show some detail.

Spiral galaxy IC 1296 can be seen to the lower left of M57, shines at magnitude15.5 and is 200 M lightyears away.
